Black dog in the white frost,
Red fox at the burnt cross.
All I know is who not to trust,
The deadwood,
The rotten logs.
Blurred lines, power corrupts
The white rabbit in the jaws of the red fox,
You might call this protection
But we’ve already lost
Foundations
Pick me; pick them; pick us.
Our hands raised, then our wrists were cuffed.
All I know is there’s no one left to trust
Drip fed until the last drip drops,
It’s not the weight, it the crush
If you call this protection
We’ve already lost.
Foundations
We could have built something beautiful,
I watched you destroy yourself.
It’s not the weight, it’s the crush.

The Dionne 5.
I was born with no choice but to survive
Under the nation eyes.
They cut the family ties
Don’t the government always know best?
They lied to us all, this country’s deeply depressed.
Taken from my mother’s unfit breast,
But all the money in the world, without Love, is worthless.
I, oh, I, I never felt like anyone
My walls number 4.
I saw you pass despite my mirrored glass,
I must have heard every gasp.
Well the strange will always attract.
While the government regains its grasp,
We’re stood in the ruins of markets, they collapsed?
Oh, we all needed money fast,
But for all that we have, it can’t buy us our innocence back.
I, oh, I, I never felt like anyone
I want love,
Want to feel that human touch.
I won’t love,
It can’t replace what I’ve lost.
I want love,
I want to feel that human touch.
I, oh, I, I never loved anyone

There are bodies beneath my feet,
The world is never ours.
If only I could dig deep,
Dig a little deeper,
Would I then sleep with one eye open?
Should this make me weak?
Weakened by suspicion,
Awakened with suspicions.
It's so fragile underneath
But the fear they sow, we reap,
Upon this they’ll have us feed.
If only I could breath,
Breathe a little deeper.
Then maybe I could sleep
With both eyes open,
With both eyes open.
And this was one of those times,
When you should have stood up,
To be counted.
Walls, walls will always fall,
Buried beneath the peat,
What once was, again will be
Put remains behind glass screens.
But we’re on our hands and knees,
If only I could dream with both eyes open,
Maybe then I would sleep.
Sleep a little deeper.
And this was one of those times,
When you should have stood up,
To be counted.

The door swung open, she climbed inside,
No fuss or nonsense, no need for goodbyes,
The silence her audience, the darkness her guide,
It was a normal night,
Much like any other night.
Oh, let them say, “She’d have wanted this way,”
Oh, let them say, “She was always strange.”
Oh, let them say, “Well she’s with him now,”
Oh, let them say, “It seems right, somehow.”
Yeah, right how?
I want to go to sleep and never wake up,
It not that I don’t love you, but I’ve had enough.
Taken too much of this,
I have nothing left to give,
The only way out that exists is through that door.
Oh, let them say, “She’d have wanted this way,”
Oh, let them say, “She was always strange.”
Oh, let them say, “Well she’s with him now,”
Oh, let them say, “It seems right, somehow.”
Yeah, right how?

For Sometime

No, there’s nothing wrong.
No, there’s nothing wrong.
Sitting side by side in our stationary ride,
I stared into the slight night sky.
I sense you skin on my shoulder,
As you silently started to cry,
And you asked me why?
Well, words and reasons escape us all sometimes
And sometimes, for some time.
The harder things get the easier it becomes to say,
There’s nothing wrong.
Sitting side by side in our stationary ride.
It’s strange what we bury,
Though we know it hasn’t died.
While we wrestle with what we know’s gone,
Wishing it alive.
And you asked me why?
Well, words and reason escape us all sometimes,
And sometimes, for some time.
The harder things get the easier it becomes to say,
There’s nothing wrong.
There’s no easy way to work this out,
And sometimes,
It's for some time.
